In conjunction with the 15th Selangor University (UNISEL) Convocation Ceremony, the university has held a Fishing Competition on 11 and 12 June 2022 at Tasik Lindungan Burung located at UNISEL Bestari Jaya Campus. The competition which started at 7 am was joined by die-hard anglers from all over Malaysia.

The concept of the competition on that day is “nature battle”, which is fishing in the lake using a boat or kayak, which method is gaining ground among anglers today. While the fishing competition which took place on 12 June 2022 was held in the campus by highlighting the concept of “land battle”.

In addition to the fishing competition, also taking place on the same day is the Sanctuary Run where the run was completed by Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mohammad Redzuan Othman, President and Vice Chancellor of UNISEL accompanied by Mr Khalid Abdullah, General Manager of Human Resources and State Capital Administration of Selangor Berhad (PNSB) who represented YM Raja Ahmad Shahrir Iskandar Raja Salim, Chief Executive Officer of PNSB.

In addition to promoting the new location, which is the Bird Sanctuary Lake, both events were conducted to introduce the area that will become a new ecotourism attraction in the state of Selangor to the general public and the surrounding community.

Furthermore, this Bird Protection Lake project is located in a very strategic location and will be a project that will be commercialized by UNISEL.

What is more interesting, the program is also supported and sponsored by PNSB. In addition, UNISEL also got cooperation from Monstercraft Fishing, FishingTAG, GoMo Kayak, Fishing Madness, 1stopfishing.

For information, this Bird Protection Lake will open an opportunity for bird watchers to see for themselves the existence of various bird species in addition to being the focus of scientists doing research on the behavior patterns of the bird species found here.
