At Universiti Selangor (UNISEL), our journey toward a greener and more sustainable campus is driven by passion, collaboration, and a commitment to sustainability. The UNISEL UI GreenMetric Team was formed to coordinate and strengthen initiatives that align with the UI GreenMetric World University Ranking framework.
Our team brings together representatives from diverse faculties and departments who work collectively to enhance sustainability performance across six key indicators — covering setting and infrastructure, energy and climate, waste management, water, transportation, education, and research.
UNISEL has exemplified outstanding sustainability practices, from the preservation of the Bird Sanctuary Lake ecosystem and the serene green landscape of Bestari Jaya, to active engagement in reforestation initiatives, water conservation efforts, and community-driven environmental programs. The university has also made significant strides in advancing renewable energy, integrating solar power installations and energy-efficient technologies across its campuses to minimize carbon emissions and promote responsible energy management.
These efforts reflect our strong environmental values and our role as a living laboratory for sustainability. Through shared vision and teamwork, UNISEL aspires to be a model of sustainable university development, contributing actively to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and advancing the State of Selangor’s green agenda.
