The University of Selangor (UNISEL) today held the First Gotong-Royong Program at the Bestari Jaya campus, which was attended by academic and campus administrative staff from both campuses, Bestari Jaya and Shah Alam.
According to Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mohammad Redzuan Othman, President and Vice Chancellor of UNISEL, this getong-royong program can be used as a periodic activity which serves to strengthen brotherhood among staff thus benefiting the joint university assets.
The program started at 8.00 in the morning which involved several activities including pruning, fertilizing and loosening the soil in addition to mutual cooperation involving all staff to clean the area around the administrative and faculty buildings.
“This is not the first time we hold this gotong-royong activity. I hope that with activities like this, this campus will become more cheerful and will be able to provide comfort to students and staff,” he said during the Opening Ceremony of Gotong-Royong Perdana 2022 at the Chancellery grounds.
In the same ceremony, also taking place is symbolic for the handing over of Palm Tree Donations from individuals made up of UNISEL members.
A total of 56 bags of oil palm seedlings were donated and successfully planted around UNISEL Bestari Jaya Campus.
